Homecoming King Nominees
Hi, my name is Zach and I am a junior in the sports management program. I grew up in Orange County and then I moved to Denver when I was nine. My first love is baseball with dogs as a close second. My goal in life is to work for a Major League Baseball team and have all the dogs.
Michael "Hunter" Culbert
Hi! My name is Hunter and I am from Tucson, Arizona. Here at GCU, I teach science in the Learning Lounge and direct the CAB team in charge of Lip Sync and Mr. GCU. I have two younger sisters, one who goes to ASU (you can only teach them so much), and an incredibly supportive family back home. Next year, I plan to attend the University of Arizona College of Medicine in hopes of becoming a pediatrician. The three things I enjoy most in life are making people laugh, petting dogs and catching a ride on the GCU golf carts.
Hello, my name is Blake. I am majoring in web design and I'd like to work at GCU post-graduation. My favorite pass time is watching freshmen learn how to longboard. Some of my goals for 2018 are to talk to three girls and learn how to ride a bicycle. Last thing: My Venmo is Blake-Duncan-4.
I am a senior in the nursing program. I enjoy anything outside in the sunshine with my friends and future dime piece of a wife Kenna James. I have a heart for individuals who are hurting and enjoy attempting to make people laugh. The most ideal temperature is 49 degrees less than 118 degrees. Something most people don't know about me is I auditioned to be in "Pitch Perfect 3: Last Call Pitches." You can find our registry at theknot.com/KennaAndDan and for the small price of an Amazon gift card, you can support our Lope Love forever.
Homecoming Queen Nominees
Hi! My name is Marissa Barraza and I am a senior nursing student in level four. Go Trad-B! When I'm not studying, you can find me at the pool, eating with my friends or binging on Netflix. Everyone who knows me, knows that my biggest obsession in life is weenie dogs. After graduation, I plan on moving back home to SoCal with hopes to work in labor and delivery or pediatrics.
McKenna "Kenna" James
My name is Kenna James and I am a senior majoring in elementary education in hopes of teaching first grade. I am the oldest of seven and have three siblings adopted from Ethiopia! My dream is to open up a school in Africa for orphans and other children who wouldn't normally have the opportunity to go to school. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, crafting and exploring! A few of my favorite things include country music, sprinkles, coffee and my sweet future husband Daniel.
I am a junior studying Christian studies with an emphasis in youth ministry and minor in worship arts. I love studying God's Word, journeying in an adventurous relationship with Jesus Christ, singing, dancing and people! My favorite dessert is a pizookie (because, well, it's amazing and needs no explanation) and I love acting as well. I am a HUGE extrovert, so spending time with others and encouraging them are some of my favorite things! I love being spontaneous, especially if it involves taking a random long road trip with friends or just hanging out.
Estela Davis Ortiz
Hi, my name is Estela and I am a senior studying exercise science with an emphasis in physical education and a minor in athletic coaching. I am from Mexico and I am part of the GCU swimming and diving team! I enjoy watching movies and spending time with my friends, family and dogs. GCU is like my second home. I have learned that I am not alone and that God is always with me. I am looking to be a coach when I graduate to share my experience with kids. I love chocolate, coffee and gummy bears!
