To kick off the 2018-19 school year, all new Lopes are required and families are invited to attend New Student Orientation. Get acquainted. Get prepared. Get excited for GCU!

Register Today! If you are an out of state resident and are unable to travel to GCU for summer orientation, you may opt to attend New Student Orientation during your Welcome Week dedicated move-in date. Space are limited. For assistance with registration, please email us at email@example.com or call 602-639-6678. Please Note: Individuals who reside upon and/or visit the GCU campus are responsible for their own mobility. If assistance is needed, a golf cart ride may be available based on a disability issue; however, arrangements need to be made at least 48 hours prior to the visit and are offered as a courtesy service only. Summer Orientation Sessions
GCU highly recommends attending orientation over the summer and offers several opportunities for you to do so. At these summer orientation sessions, you will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the residence halls, attend elective sessions and complete any outstanding registration items needed.

Summer Orientation Agenda
8 - 8:45 am: Check-in
9 - 10 am: Student & Parent Info Session - During this time, students and parents attend a session together that focuses on getting ready to attend GCU. The session covers everything you need to know about the first year of college, including information about advising services, academic resources, Public Safety, parking, campus events and much more.
10:15 am - 1 pm: New Student EXPO - At the EXPO you can explore booths from various campus departments including Student Affairs and our colleges. Demonstrations of GCU's online learning management system, LoudCloud, will be available. You can also take care of outstanding items such as health insurance, parking permits, student ID, your schedule, finances and more.
10:15 am - 1 pm: Residence Hall Tours
10:30 am - 12:40 pm: Elective Sessions - These 30-minute sessions run simultaneously at 10:30 am, 11:20 am and 12:10 pm. Choose the sessions that interest you most to get more information about GCU.
Welcome Week Orientation Sessions
If you are unable to attend a summer session, you may choose to attend an orientation session on your move-in day during Welcome Week.
You will be given the Welcome Week option, along with the Summer Session options, during the registration process.
Welcome Week Orientation Agenda
10 am - 4 pm: New Student EXPO - Visit the EXPO to take care of outstanding items such as health insurance, parking permits, student ID, your schedule, finances and more. For your convenience, the EXPO will be open Monday through Saturday during Welcome Week.
Monday, Aug. 20 - Wednesday, Aug. 22
If not completed during the summer your Orientation will take place on the day you move to campus.
1 - 2 pm: Check-in
2 - 3 pm: Student & Parent Info Sessions - Parents and students attend a session together that focuses on everything they need to know about the first year of college. Some topics covered include advising services, academic resources, Public Safety, parking, campus events and more.
Friday, Aug. 24
8 - 8:45 am: Check-in for New Commuters*
12 - 1 pm: Check in for New Residents*
4 - 5 pm: Student & Parent Info Sessions - Parents and students attend a session together that focuses on everything they need to know about the first year of college. Some topics covered include advising services, academic resources, Public Safety, parking, campus events and more.
*New commuters and some new residents will complete Lope Life 101 this day. Commuters may check in from 8 - 8:45 am, and new residents with the move-in day of Thursday, Aug. 23 or Friday, Aug. 24 may check in from noon - 1 pm.
Saturday, Aug. 25
9 - 10 am: Check-in
10 - 11 am: Student & Parent Info Sessions - This session is the perfect opportunity for students and parents to learn all about the first year of college at GCU. Get info about advising services, academic resources, Public Safety, parking, campus events and more.
Lope Life 101
New Student Orientation is the first exciting step to your onboarding process. Once you arrive for Welcome Week, you will experience your second step: Lope Life 101. This experience introduces you to classmates, roommates, and academic resources, providing everything you will need as you begin your new journey. Lope Life 101 starts the day you move to campus or, if you are commuting to campus, on the Friday of Welcome Week.
