Grand Canyon University's STEM Implementation 102

Learn, Collaborate and Expand your STEM Curriculum!

Designed for schools and teachers with some STEM experience, this STEM Implementation 102 workshop series offers a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate and expand your STEM curriculum. It will advance your STEM expertise, provide you with strategies to promote cross-curricular integration and grow your professional learning network. You also have the opportunity for a one-on-one feedback and coaching workshop!


You can sign up for a four-workshop series individually for $500 or as a team of three for $1,200. You can also purchase single workshop sessions by contacting CanyonProfDev@gcu.edu. Schools with less STEM experience can check out gcu.edu/STEM101 for introductory STEM Implementation workshops.

Preparing Your Students for STEM Competitions:

Aug. 28, 2019

  • Administrator optional and attends for free with paid subscription
  • In-person, six-hour workshop from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (lunch is provided)
  • Discuss finding and succeeding in competitions, networking and scientific writing strategies, as well as data and project management

STEM and Your Community:

Sept. 5, 2019

  • Administrator required and attends for free with paid subscription
  • Live, two-hour webinar from 3:30 - 5:30 pm
  • Focus on building industry and university partnerships, along with planning, marketing and managing STEM events

STEM and the Christian Worldview:

Sept. 12, 2019

  • Administrator optional and attends for free with paid subscription
  • Live, two-hour webinar from 3:30 - 5:30 pm
  • Learn how to effectively integrate STEM and the Christian worldview in your classroom

Building STEM-Focused Lessons:

Sept. 25, 2019

  • Administrator optional and attends for free with paid subscription
  • In-person, six-hour workshop from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (lunch is provided)
  • Practice building STEM-focused lesson plans that are aligned with academic standards

District- or School-Wide STEM Implementation:

Jan. 22, 2020

  • Administrator required and attends for free with paid subscription
  • In-person, six-hour workshop from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (lunch is provided)
  • Expand on your STEM knowledge and learn how to grow STEM concepts from a pull-out or after-school program to a system-wide initiative

  • Live, two-hour webinar from 3:30 - 5:30 pm
  • Learn about STEM funding sources and effective strategies for grant writing in this live webinar

Multi-Disciplinary Embedded Technology:

Feb. 5, 2020

  • Administrator recommended and attends for free with paid subscription
  • In-person, six-hour workshop from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (lunch is provided)
  • Learn about and plan for embedded technology across content areas such as: policies, procedures, management of technology and social media

STEM Coaching:

  • In-person, six-hour workshop from 8:30 am - 3:30 pm (lunch is provided)
  • Work directly with experts in STEM implementation, who will answer questions and help you brainstorm STEM solutions
